Functionality to initiate and plan an upcoming passage.
GPX Route Updates
Regular weather checks are wise and using tools such as Predictwind that incorporate weather forecasts a safer and often shorter passage is possible. Update the route at any time and relevant data (waypoint changes, arrival times and distances). The digital float plan also changes if Starlink is available.
Watch Changes
Set a standard period of time (perhaps four hours) for each watch shift and the system will create a countdown clock for the person on-watch. At each changes a checklist may be used to ensure the proper information is communicated and steps are taken for an efficienct and safe handover.
Passage Monitoring
NAVOPLAN monitors the passage at all times estimating arrival times, fuel usage and distances remaining. For motor vessels NAVOPLAN will also monitor temperature readings and look for potential issues developing. Utilizing artifical intelligence tools, an upcoming version will watch a passage and utilize historical data to suggest improvements or possible issues that may develop or are underway.
Rounds Checklist
In addition to checklists used during watch changes, NAVOPLAN can also utilizes periodic checks at intervals to inspect the vessel and monitor performance. The time between checks and tasks to include are easily created and maintained by the owner/operator.
